10 December 2010: Off season laziness

Updates here seem to have fallen by the wayside - think I have been distracted by the fact that I am home in Lennox Head after 8 months of travel. In some ways it feels quite strange to be home and in others it feels as though I have never left! It really is a stunning part of the world and although I feel so grateful for the opportunities crated by my job which see me in all corners of the globe, it is still nice to have somewhere so beautiful to call home! Not much training has been going on yet - the odd run on the beach/headland, a swim or two and a handful of rides - but that will change very soon!! I have been enjoying though getting back to the local farmers markets and stocking up on the incredible produce and being back in my own kitchen. The markets here are some of the very best - and although you may think I am a little biased, I am not the only one who thinks they are worth a visit. Yesterday all the talk was on when Oprah would show up. Much excited chatter but no sightings (apparently some of her entourage was there though).

Also getting excited by the prospect of 2011 - I have not yet had the courage to tackle the race calender - there are so many races to choose from next year it is going to be quite a task! First though I need to get fit again - it is always surprising how quickly you can go from feeling fantastic, super-fit and race ready to struggle-street where even the smallest effort seems monumental.Got some work to do! - but that is the fun part.....
