Thank goodness for the aid station on my run this morning. Cleverly disguised as a coffee shop and situated less than a minute into my long run - a quick double shot espresso and good to go...... Unfortunately the run was cut a little short by some thunderstorms so decided to break in into two, had breakfast then hit the treadmill. Its been a good couple of days training and the body was definitely feeling it this morning. Woke up with flat batteries and was very hard to get out of bed. After the race last Sunday I took a couple of easy recovery days then hit it again from Thursday. First up was swim squad and no I never expected it to be easy with the swim team, but never the less the 6.7km consisting mostly of hard quality was still a shock to the system. Another 6.5km set the next morning (yep those 15 x 50m fly hurt a little - haven't done those kind of butterfly sets for years now), a hard strength bike session, a killer TT bike session and a few other rides and runs.......hence right now I am sitting on the lounge, quite happy to watch everyone else racing this weekend. There seems to be races on everywhere, again. For me though a little bit of feet up before another ride this afternoon - looking like it will be indoors due to the storms and rain hanging around - but no complaints as I will get to watch some of the racing online, on TV as well as some of the WC soccer! PS. Happy Birthday to Steve Harad from Kestrel!!!!
