Home from the Kansas City Triathlon. What a great race - beautiful venue, challenging course, really well organised and run and possibly one of the coolest trophies - a beer jug! (empty though). Plus I got to meet and speak to a lot of great people. Congratulations to everyone who raced and thanks for making it a fun day. I was pretty happy with my swim, bike and run - have to say I woke up quite tired and sore - it has been a tough week of training and when I headed out for a short warm up jog I could feel it was going to be one of those days where you never feel fresh or fast, but can feel strong, once you get going. Funnily enough I actually feel less sore after the race than I did before. I do love the fact that that I could sleep at home and now having raced, driven home and completley unpacked, done another training run plus a recovery session and put on a load of washing, all before 3.30pm. Wish all races were this close. Having got up at 4.30am though it is feeling like it is going to be an early dinner and early bed.
